06/14/2010 Weekly Letter

Hey Hey,

Our week this week was pretty good. I think that the best part was when we got to go up to Cayce on Thursday night. We usually go up there the night before one of our meetings and spend the night so that we don’t have to wake up early and drive up there. Plus it is fun to go up to the other elders apartment and hang out for a little bit haha its good to get out of the apartment with just the
two of us sometimes. I love Elder Hightower and all haha but spending every minute of every day together sometimes its good to talk to some other people. But the best part of being up there was that I got to do my first baptismal interview since becoming a district leader. I got to Interview Elder Esplin and Elder Seamons Investigator named Jane she is a really nice lady who has just been soaking everything up as much as she can she has had three strokes and so her memory is not the best but she definently knows the church Is true and she has a great spirit about her. I am happy to say that everything went well and that she was baptized on Saturday I wish I could have gotten to go but its all good. I guess that president McConkie was there so that is cool. Then she was confirmed a member on that following Sunday. Elder Seamons just told me last night that she gets to go to the temple on this Tuesday to do baptisms so that is way cool.

Oh ya and my other favorite part was that on this Sunday I had the awesome privilege of speaking with Brother Thomas Brown. Thomas is one of my most recent converts that me and Elder Neerings had the opportunity to work with and I got the opportunity to perform his baptism. He has just bee doing really good in the church haha and his talk was awesome he put a lot of time and spirit into it and it was great everyone loved it. Then Sam Pound who is Makaylas best friend the one who helped us teach makayla gave a talk about the opportunity to share the gospel with her friends and that went really good. Haha and then I got the opportunity to speak and I hope I did it justice because the two that were before me were really awesome. I thought that was so cool I really just love this ward and being here in Orangeburg it is a great place where I hope that I will be remembered for a long time.

Interviews were pretty awesome as they usually are. I had a pretty good interview with president haha I am just worried to see what he has planned for me because he says that I am doing pretty good as a district leader. I want to do a good job haha I just don’t know if I want a higher position haha but I will do whatever he asks me to do. Hey maybe nothing will happen but I do have a feeling like I will be leaving O-Burg but I will find our this Saturday. Man I think the best part of the interview trainings was the one president gave us on music. We are now allowed to listen to lots of different music not just morman tabernacle choir thank goodness haha I love motab but it does get pretty old listening to the same thing over and over and over and over haha and yes over again. So now we can listen to anything that will invite the spirit and help us to focus on the savoir and the work. So if there is any music that fits those requirements we get to listen to it. He is putting that trust with us he referred the old rule to the law of moses and now we get to make the decision for ourselves which is the higher law so I am really hoping that nobody screws it up because this is going to be great. So if anybody has some good music they would like to send haha I would be more than happy to have itJ

Well that was pretty much our week I hope that all is going well I love you all and thanks for all your support.

Love,
Elder Adam Fitzgerald
