05/05/2010 Letter from Elder Fitz

Hello Hello,

This Last week was a pretty good week. We got to go to the Rose festival it is kind of like raspberry days haha but smaller and not so much cool stuff. But we had a booth there that our ward has been doing for a few years I guess. It was kinda funny the first day we were kinda of stuck down on the end where not a whole lot of people were coming. Not only that but we were right next to this Baptist group who were “Saving” everybody that came by, and the seventh day Adventist were right there by us as well. They were nice and im sure that
their intentions were good. It is always just really sad to see when people are misled by all of this other stuff that is only a little tiny bit of the truth. But despite our somewhat distracting neighbors we did get I think around 60 leads and easily over a hundred contacts so it was pretty good. We have some people to go see and hopefully their hearts and their minds will be open to hear the wonderful truth that the gospel has to offer. We have met a couple of cool people these last few days that will hopefully progress and continue to learn and grow.

             We had a really good ward fireside as well this Sunday. I was kinda bummed that more people didn’t come because we invited so many people it is ridiculous and pretty none of them showed up but their loss I guess. Man sister Pound in our ward can sing! Haha I had no Idea but when me and Elder Hightower heard here we were just amazed. I guess she used to sing in a country group with her dad before she married brother Pound and joined the church. It was really good though, I really love this ward they are always doing cool things like this and they get together every month and just do a little program and everybody brings some stuff to eat and they just have a get together.

           

It was pretty sweet I got to go to the temple for the first time since the mtc. We got permission to switch our p-day from a Monday to a Wednesday because the temple isn’t open on Mondays. So we got Brother Holstad from our ward to take us this morning. It was really good, haha but I almost felt like I was going through again for the first time because it has just been a little while since I went last. Haha its just a good thing that everybody there is willing to help and not just laugh. But it was good to be able to go and to learn and to feel the spirit there. The temple is such a great place to be you can learn so much there.

We have been teaching a really cool girl named makaya, she is friends with a girl in the ward. She has been coming to mutual for a little while now and I guess she told the pounds she wanted to join the church. Haha I don’t know why they didn’t tell us sooner but we started to teach her and everything was going really good. So we had here on date and everything set up for here to be baptized this last Sunday. Well I get a call from sister Pound on Friday night and here dad heard some anti stuff and freaked out so It Is going to put off the baptism for a little bit so I was way mad. But we are working through it and we have really been praying for here. She knows it is true she just doesn’t want to cause a bunch of issues which is very understandable. But I know that the Lord can work things out and he will. It just never ceases to amaze me how much Satan tries to interfere with the work he always does somehow and succeeds unfortunately sometimes but I know it will work out this time.

Well that about all for now I guess. Im excited to be able to talk to the Fam on Mothers day. Oh ya Happy Mothers day to every mom that will read this Moms are the best you make the world go round.
