Hello Hello,
This week started off pretty good actually, at our last interviews we found out that the office elders have been working long and hard to recover some old medias that never got sent out to the missionaries. Some of them date back to 2004 and so they have bee working for like 2 weeks straight to get them all sorted to give to us. Haha well since Orangeburg is one of the
biggest areas in the mission we have I think the second most out of everybody. So we got 58 pages haha that’s about 600 people we have to map out and go and visit, but its pretty good we have been able to go to some areas that we normally wouldn’t and we have actually found quite a few investigators from it so far.

I think the best part of this week would be the fact that on Friday we found the most elect and prepared person to teach. We met him on Friday and we taught him and had a really good lesson. We left him a book of mormon and a pamphlet on the restoration and a restoration dvd and a finding faith dvd. So we went back on Saturday and he had started reading and was loving it he was so excited to start reading the book. We had a great lesson the spirit was so strong, right after the first vision we knelt with him and he prayed and he knew that he was feeling the spirit. So right after that we challenged him to be baptized on July 10th and he accepted. He told us that he know Joseph Smith is a real prophet and he loves him. We watched the restoration and he couldn’t believe it he is like that is the same exact way that I feel right now. He was way excited to come to church and we were way excited to have him. He came and he absolutely loved it he said that he just felt different here he knew this is what he had been praying for and he is so excited to be a part of it and continue to learn more. He is going to be a wonderful addition to the Orangeburg ward.
Another really crazy thing happened this Saturday we were just out doing some proselyting in the blazing hot humid streets of Orangeburg and Elder Hightower looked at the phone and said that we had missed a call from president. So my stomach dropped like it usually does when president is calling, But this was on transfer Saturday when you find out if you are leaving or not and when president calls you that means that he is either calling you to train a new missionary of he is calling you to a leadership position haha so that made me even more nervous. So I called him back and it was busy he was calling other people still so I left a message and I was holding on to the phone because these new phones we got you cant really feel in your pocket. But just then we saw the bishop and his wife so I put the phone in my pocket for like 2 seconds and missed a call from president again haha then I listened to the voicemail he left me and it said “I already talked to your voicemail once call me back” in that stern President McConkie voice of his. So I called him back and he said “Elder Fitzgerald are you working hard? Me Yes of course president it really hot today! Pres haha good are you staying hydrated? Me haha yes trying to. Pres good good well Elder Fitzgerald this is your transfer call im not telling you where your going you will find out on Wednesday morning but you will be serving as a zone leader. Me oh boy alright president. Pres. Can I speak with Elder Hightower? Me Yep hes right here. Then he told Elder Hightower that he Is being called to be a new missionary trainer and that he needs to be at a meeting on Tuesday that starts at 1:00 but be in your seat by 12:30. So this means that I have to pack extra quick and take my stuff up there with us and we will be spending the night who knows where and I have no idea what I will be doing during that meeting so I guess we will fin out tomorrow.
So then I started on my wonderful task of packing all of my crap into my suitcases which is really crappy but its what we do I guess.:) So we get a call this morning on top of all of this they are sending another set of missionaries to Orangeburg and we have to do everything to get ready for them so we have to clean and arrange and do everything so we are pretty stressed out right now but I guess that’s missionary life. But other than that nothing is going on haha but I will let ya know how everything went next week I hope all is well. Have a great week.
