2/7/11 letter

Hey Everybody,
Things are going pretty good here in Union. This week was a little different than any other  because we had a leadership training meeting in Columbia. It was prettty weird we held it in the West Columbia stake center which is the first ward that I served in here in South Carolina so it was cool to be able to go back and see it. The leadership meeting was good haha a lot of sitting as it usually is, but we did have  Elder Gibbons from the Seventy come and talk to us and train us for a while. It was really good training about how we need to effectively work with the members more and things will move forward at a much more effective rate and a lot quicker.  Its so true members truly are the key to finding so many more people that need the gospel, everyone is just so afraid to bring it up to anyone.  I know I sure was before my mission, but Elder Gibbons talked to us a lot about how
to teach the members how to be more comfortable with sharing the gospel. It was really cool even with all of the things he and his wife have to do they still set goals and have people taught in their home. So if he can do it so can everybody else we just need to get out of the mind set that it is hard. Set goals, pray for oppourtunities and take them. The gospel brings so much joy and happiness and peace and comfort and etc…. so many things and we are so selfish by hiding it and keeping it from others. The savior taught us that we need to invite and give everyone the chance to hear it. They wont always accept but if we invite, we have done our part haha and we don’t just do it once but continually. I know the Lord will bless us as we do so and we willl be happier. Speaking of happier, Phill Landreth that just got baptized on the 22nd of January just went this past Saturday to do baptisms for the dead, he was so happy when he came home. He says that he just loves this church more and more that he has never been this happy. He bore his testimony and also taught Priesthood at church yesturday it was amazing. But he was talking about the happiness that the gospel brings him and how if the temple is work he wants a lot more of it. It was amazing he will do some great things in the church, and its crazy to think all of that because simply knocking on a door and inviting him to learn more to read from the Book of Mormon whatever it is it doesn’t have to be hard. The blessings from sharing the gospel are amazing I know that and it is amazing. Well  that’s about all for this week hope all is well and everybody has a blessed week.
 Love,
Elder Adam Fitzgerald
